July 22th 2003
bubax.org and its associates have been more or less completely redesigned
Many old paths have become invalid. If you enter an invalid address, however, you should be redirected to the appropriate location
I hope these changes will help me keeping this site updated with less effort

July 10th 2003
First streamlined thing: The copyright and disclaimer has been modified and smoothened. A dull job; but such things seem to be necessary

July 9th 2003
First attempt of streamlining bubax.org... This effort is visible on the start site

July 6th 2003
After I have successfully completed the “summer holidays” (December 2002 to July 2003) I’ve finally found some spare time to do some critical debugging
The point is this: Under certain circumstances (usually concerning slow internet connections or a lazy server), there has been observed infinite reloading. This messy inconvenience should be erased now. Thanks to the people who gave feedback on this bug
The reason for those long “holidays” will be explained later. I’m sorry if you’ve been bored in the meantime

April 27th 2003
Due to the existence and activity of SpamBots I have removed or modified all direct e-mail links

December 24th 2002
Major modifications of scripts...

December 14th 2002
Minor modifications of scripts...
I really don’t have any spare time

November 17th 2002
Just rewritten the Photo Gallery
You won’t notice this, however
This had to be done because unfortunately I had to put all the images onto another server. I hope the new one will be save and stable enough

November 2nd 2002
Unnecessarily, I’ve exerted some impact on the status area
Interestingly, Netscape 7.0 doesn’t take care about my intentions
I mean, the only thing it really does is not showing anything most of the time
But this fact gave me the chance to go over Techniques again

October 28th 2002
Some changes made to support Netscape 7.0, too
This has influenced my statements in the Techniques section
Some of the changes I was forced to introduce might seem intelligible to the judging mind. Others appear to be so incomprehensible I really wonder why it does work in the end
Will I ever check it out with Opera one cloudy day? What about Netscape 8.0? Is there a chance to place some news here, or do I always have to support other browsers? What am I doing in my spare time?
Concerning http://www.bubax.com/, no progress has been made. Except support for Netscape 7.0

October 10th 2002
http://www.bubax.com/ is accessible since today
You have to be patient, however, until sock brokerage begins
There are other things to do

October 8th 2002
Some really quite minor bugs have been removed
These bugs have been affecting especially my German visitors
So they were pushed to the English sites in certain cases... Sorry!

October 5th 2002
Links section added to bubax.org. The list is (of course) not complete yet
From a technical point of view there’s not very much to do left. I went over everything and consider it to be good. Or OK, at least
I also introduced a way of giving a suggestion about the status of a specific site. Sites or sections under construction are labeled with an animated gif. This gif is provided for free from SelfHTML (see Links section).

September 29th 2002
Last remaining bugs removed...

September 28th 2002
The structure of bubax.org has been modified completely.
Therefore it is also possible to set a direct link to any of its subdirectories
These modifications also resulted in simplified techniques and enable more stable browsing.
(Some rare and weird JavaScript errors have been catched and removed throughout this process)
Thanks section removed. It’ll be replaced by a chapter called Links soon

August 25th 2002
Just telling that I’m going to sell old socks...

August 18th 2002
Four more lanterns added to Photo Gallery. At least one of them is actually not a lantern

August 17th 2002
Photo Gallery modified [1]: Resolutions other than 800x600 are also supported from now on. The image size automatically adapts to your screen resolution
Photo Gallery modified [2]: You can use the back button of your browser to leave a photo collection. Without any restrictions. (Actually, there’s a little bug that remained. In certain cases there won’t be a real back button... But that doesn’t mean any harm)
Buggy links in the HP48GX section repaired

July 5th 2002
Photo Gallery updated: My niece’s birthday party added
Photo Gallery modified: Some technical modifications introduced. As a consequence thereof, I’ll soon be able to eliminate certain restrictions. For example, other resolutions than 800x600 will also give fine results. I’m working on these improvements

June 27th 2002
Just saying: “Hello, I’m back...”

May 22nd 2002
The Copyright & Disclaimer section has been rewritten. That doesn’t have any reasonable effect concerning the visitor: There are rules, restrictions, and reglementations...
Everything considered, I strongly suggest to read any Copyright & Disclaimer section that does actually exist before entering the world wide web. If you don’t follow this suggestion, there’s a reasonable possibility of breaking somebody’s rules...

May 15th 2002
The German edition http://www.bubax.de/ is from now on working more or less independently from bubax.org. Although it keeps on lagging behind compared to the English edition, it may serve as an alternative for some visitors

May 9th 2002
The Photo Gallery again has been improved. The improvement concerns the way the image descriptions are displayed. Since the code looks somewhat more bewildering now, I hope I haven’t mistyped anything. Please do not hesitate reporting any bugs

May 7th 2002
Acknowledgement section added (“Thanks”)
At this occasion the buttons were re-designed. I think they’re looking somewhat prettier now
Additionally, I’ve re-introduced the feature of leaving a photo collection by just clicking on the image

May 4th 2002
The JavaScript code is now completely debugged. As far as I’ve tested it, there are virtually no restrictions anymore. The only way of willingly produce a JavaScript error is to use the browser internal back button inside a photo collection. Using Internet Explorer, however, you have to click that button several times to get an error message, so... Good luck
The browser internal reload button is also debugged and therefore works anywhere at bubax.org without restrictions

May 3rd 2002
http://www.bubax.de/ updated
Some minor and unimpressing changes throughout bubax.org

May 2nd 2002
The JavaScript code has been completely modified
Due to these modifications, there are less JavaScript errors to be expected. The only one I have observed occurs while using the browser internal reload button. Sorry for this inconvenience. You can use the reload button on the left instead
The most important benefit concerns the Photo Gallery. It works much faster...
Sorry, however, for I’m no native speaker. If you have observed any problems, errors, difficulties... Just contact me

A brief description of these small navigation buttons (again). They are somewhat smaller since today
Especially the reload button seems to have freaked the people. But there was no other character I could imagine to express the fact of getting through all the mess ever and again. At least not in the font types installed on the machine I used for creating these buttons. Well:
backward
backward (history:back)
backward
top (of the current document)
reload
reload (text-containing frame only)
backward
bottom (of the current document)
forward
forward (history:forward)
You may use these buttons anywhere at bubax.org. The browser internal back and forward buttons do work as well, except inside a photo collection. So, please avoid using them there

April 23rd 2002
You can now use the small top, bottom, back, forward, and reload buttons anywhere at bubax.org. The browser internal back and forward buttons do work as well, except inside a photo collection. So, please avoid using them there
From now on the right border will be used for navigation, too

April 22nd 2002
The Photo Gallery is now debugged
The bug I’ve talked about so much has finally turned out to be a wicked misinterpretation by the Internet Explorer, not reasonable in any way. Therefore it was quite hard to be found. Netscape Navigator, in contrast, usually follows a certain path of misinterpretation, consequently and not idle, making it feasible at least to guess what’s going wrong.
[If you really want to know what the bug was about: Some of the descriptions didn’t show up properly. Because of the height of certain <td> tags. That was all]
The Photo Gallery has also be re-designed and now contains a second collection of photographs. To be continued

April 9th 2002
Two additional navigation buttons were introduced. They are:
backward
top
reload
bottom
You will find them among the links on the left. Sometimes they do also appear on the right border. Especially the top button is frequently to be found at the very bottom
Until today they won’t actually appear in the HP48GX and Photo Gallery section. Modifications of these areas are to be expected within the following week
You wish to know what they are for...? Yesss...?
If you forgot about the other three little buttons, you may click here to have a look at April 3rd’s events

April 7th 2002
The whole thing is physically flattened now (as a consequence of the modifications mentioned six days ago). That makes everything easier for me, but not for my visitor. You will hardly notice any change
A weird bug in the Photo Gallery concerning the Internet Explorer but not Netscape Navigator (!!!) is far from being solved. Not harmful, but weird, weird, weird
And vice versa: A minor and hard-to-notice bug concerns Netscape Navigator only. Without any reasonable reason. I can’t help...

April 6th 2002
Techniques rewritten

April 5th 2002
Another font used... I think it’s a little bit more relaxing for the eyes

Three additional navigation buttons were introduced. They are:
backward
backward
reload
reload
forward
forward
They are necessary for circumventing a certain set of incompatibilities with the [back] and [forward] functions of browsers. While diving inside the HP48GX and Photo Gallery areas please use only these buttons. Browser buttons will produce errors in some cases
However, I’d recommend not to use any of these back and forward buttons anyway as long as you stay in the Photo Gallery. There won’t arise any harm, but the results may look somewhat unexpected...
Outside these special areas there’s little difference between browser and Bubax buttons

April 1st 2002
The whole site has been completely modified and technically improved (although you have to look out twice if you want to see what I mean)
As a matter of fact and resulting from these modifications (I’m sorry about that, but I couldn’t find any way to circumvent it) you can’t navigate freely through the deeper paths hidden under the plain surface of bubax.org any longer. No bookmarks except a single one for the main page. At least unless you know how to

March 30th 2002
Introduction of a set of German sites. The German version (which will always remain tightly linked to bubax.org) is in development now. It is available at http://www.bubax.de/

March 18th 2002
A known bug of the Photo Gallery is fixed. The screen loads much more quickly... However, it hasn’t reached an ideal state yet. I need to work on the JavaScript code

March 7th 2002
Compatibility with older browsers improved
6 more pictures added to Photo Gallery. Some layout problems fixed

March 2nd 2002
Photo Gallery: Now with comments!

March 1st 2002
12 more pictures added to Photo Gallery
“List of Modifications” introduced

February 27th 2002
Photo Gallery added to bubax.org
Some minor bugs in JavaScript fixed
